Global Principal Project Manager – Medical Devices / Pharma

Our client is looking for a Principal Project Manager to lead a diverse portfolio of projects across development, lifecycle management, and continuous improvement initiatives within a highly regulated environment.

This role offers the opportunity to work globally across cross-functional teams, driving complex programs from strategy through execution while ensuring compliance and operational excellence.

• Translate device strategy into actionable project plans alongside technical leaders
• Develop and manage inspection-ready Design & Development Plans
• Drive execution of project deliverables aligned with design control requirements
• Lead project planning, timelines, risk management, and budget tracking
• Foster strong team dynamics and collaboration across global stakeholders
• Ensure clear communication of project status, risks, and milestones
• Facilitate decision-making, issue resolution, and governance stage-gates
• Manage vendor and external partner interactions
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and knowledge sharing

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field
• 8–11 years of experience, including 5+ years in pharma, biotech, or medical devices
• Strong experience in drug/device development and commercialization (combination products is a plus)
• Solid understanding of 21 CFR 820.30 design controls
• Proven experience managing complex global projects independently
• Proficiency in Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, and Google Suite
• Experience working with external vendors/partners
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Fluent English required (German, Japanese, or Danish is a plus)
• PMP certification is a plus
