The Opportunity

Reporting to the Head of Diagnostics Communications EMEA-LATAM, with a strong dotted-line to the Heads of Diagnostics Europe Subregions 1 (South East) and 2 (North West), you serve as a strategic communications leader, shaping and driving communication strategies that influence business outcomes at regional and global levels. You play a pivotal role in aligning communications across Diagnostics and Pharma divisions by connecting enterprise priorities with regional execution.

You collaborate closely with global Communications partners, affiliate communicators, regional leadership teams, Networks and Chapters to design, implement and scale targeted communications strategies that support business transformation, enhance reputation, and engage critical stakeholders — both internal and external — across European markets.

You also lead and advise on strategic communications projects, supporting business priorities and leadership engagement, as well as affiliate enablement across the region, while ensuring alignment with Group and Global Communications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and execution of strategic, integrated communications plans that align regional priorities with global business strategies and enhance internal and external stakeholder engagement across European markets.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to regional leadership, shaping executive messaging, narrative development, and stakeholder engagement plans that support organizational transformation and reputation building.
  • Collaborate across regions and global teams to embed European perspectives into global communications initiatives, ensuring mutual alignment and cultural relevance.
  • Drive the execution of Europe-wide strategic initiatives, including change management, leadership communications, affiliate enablement and high-impact campaigns that strengthen business performance and engagement.
  • Partner with market communications leads to plan, develop and scale targeted communications frameworks that address local business needs while supporting regional and global coherence.
  • Provide seasoned counsel and direction in complex issues and crises, navigating communications risks across European markets, offering clear, business-aligned recommendations, and in some cases, driving execution.
  • Lead performance measurement and insight gathering for communications strategies; use findings to optimize messaging, channels and engagement tactics.
  • Stay ahead of global trends, market dynamics, and healthcare ecosystem shifts, integrating insights into communications strategies to help the business lead proactively in a changing environment.
  • Who you are
    • Proven experience leading strategic, enterprise-level communications and public affairs programs across multiple markets or regions, ideally in healthcare or similarly regulated industries.
