We are looking for an intern to join our Clinical Operations group for 6 months. This internship offers hands‑on experience in a professional clinical study management for products in the medical device/dental field.
Straumann is renowned for generating strong clinical evidence to support its product portfolio and bring innovative solutions to the market. Joining the Global Clinical Research team, you will work directly with the Investigator‑Initiated Studies (IIS) Program Lead and contribute to the coordination of independent research projects that help advance evidence‑based dentistry.
Internship PurposeSupport the Clinical Research team in coordinating and managing clinical studies related to dental implants and digital dentistry solutions, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements while gaining hands‑on experience in clinical operations.
Your Main Responsibilities- Support clinical studies management (data entry, material shipment coordination, and communication with sites and clinicians).
- Maintain accurate records within our internal Clinical Trial Management System
- Ensure consistency and completeness of data across study trackers, files, and internal data bases
- Support in the preparation of reports, presentations, and progress updates for internal stakeholders.
- Participate in the feasibility assessment of a clinical initiative in collaboration with different stakeholders
- Graduate or postgraduate in Life Sciences or equivalent.
- Knowledge in clinical research or research methodology
- Interest in medical devices or dentistry
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Proactive, collaborative, and solution‑oriented mindset, eager to explore new ideas and flexible to adapt as priorities evolve.
- Proficient in written and verbal communication in English.
- Experience in the health industry and/or clinical research.
- Experience with document/trial management systems or databases
- Familiarity with regulatory standards (GCP, ISO 14155, EU MDR)
- Collaborative attitude, flexible, agile and proactive
- Analytical way of working, should have attention to detail and a strong sense of accuracy
- Strong interpersonal skills (high empathy, active listening, motivated)
- Strong commitment on achieving results
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, being able to communicate complex technical content / processes to different target audiences
- Practical experience in the field of clinical research and product development, being able to work in real world applications and projects
- Shadowing, mentoring, and training opportunities with experienced professionals in the medical device/dental field
- Opportunities to learn about various topics, including product development, material science, manufacturing, design engineering, etc.
