Introduction
An exciting role to work under the direction of the Maintenance Manager to ensure that all vehicle maintenance and MOT duties are carried out promptly, efficiently and in accordance with manufacturer's guidance and the applicable health and safety rules. The apprentice will assist qualified staff with all servicing and MOT work.
About the EmployerFiveways is an established family run business specialising in the hire of and rental of commercial vehicles in the waste industry in London, Essex, Kent and across the UK. Our vehicle maintenance facility includes an MOT test lane for LGV vehicle and a separate MOT test lane for vehicles up to 7.5t. We have over 400 vehicles available on our fleet ranging from 32t waste collection vehicles, mechanical sweepers, 3.5t cage vehicles and other specialist vehicles.
What You'll Do- Assist with undertaking the maintenance and repair of all fleet vehicles
- Ensuring that documentation regarding the MOT preparation, servicing and repair of vehicles conforms to ‘O’ Licence requirements and is accurately completed
- Maintaining an ongoing visual assessment of any vehicles which are serviced or repaired by external providers, to ensure that the highest standards are provided by any third party and that they are adhering to all legal requirements
- Report any workshop equipment defects
- Comply with relevant legalisation
- Fiveways are always seeking to develop our staff and there will be regular training provided both internal and external
- Further, we would foresee that on successful completion of the apprenticeship, a permanent position would be offered
