As an Assistant Estimator, you’ll support the team by preparing quotations, reviewing drawings, and gathering supplier information. You’ll bring attention to detail, practical problem-solving skills, and confidence with Microsoft Office, alongside knowledge of bespoke joinery and high-end materials. You’ll communicate clearly, build strong relationships, and develop your commercial skills within a specialist craft environment.
Responsibilities we’ll trust you with- You’ll collaborate with architects, site teams, and clients throughout pre-tender, live, and post-tender stages, building strong working relationships along the way.
- You’ll assist in reviewing tender drawings, creating clear cutting lists and detailed ironmongery schedules to support accurate planning.
- You’ll help prepare precise and well-structured estimates, including CAD, manufacturing, finishing, and installation hours.
- You’ll gather and compare supplier quotes for glazing, ironmongery, and other specialist items to ensure we secure the best options.
- You’ll carry out quantity take-offs and support the production of schedules of work or bills of quantities.
- You’ll analyse and share key quotation details with the wider team, including labour, materials, and other cost breakdowns.
- You’ll support monthly job valuations, track variations, and assist with preparing accurate final accounts.
- You’ll help coordinate orders, applications, and payment processes, ensuring everything runs smoothly and on time.
You’ll join Green borne Joinery, providing essential administrative and operational support to our skilled joiners. You’ll be based in the office at our state-of-the-art joinery workshop in Basingstoke, just a 5-minute drive from the local retail park.
