Trainee Electro-Mechanical Technician

£29,000 starting salary

Location:

Alton (15 minutes' drive from Basingstoke)

Hours:

8:00am – 4:00pm, Monday–Friday (37.5 hours per week)
Overtime:
Daily at 1.5x basic rate
Duration:
Permanent

About the role

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with 1-2+ years of hands‑on engineering or technical experience who is looking to develop a long‑term career within the aerospace industry. You'll receive full training on the company's products and repair processes while building on the skills you've already gained in industry.

Responsibilities
  • Learning to diagnose and repair electro‑mechanical and electronic equipment
  • Reading and interpreting schematic drawings and circuit diagrams
  • Carrying out soldering, testing and refurbishment of components
  • Using multimeters, oscilloscopes and other workshop equipment under the guidance of experienced technicians
  • Completing work to CAA, EASA and FAA Part 145 standards
  • Updating work records using Microsoft Office and the company's MRP system
  • Ensuring work cards and job documentation are completed accurately
Requirements
  • 1-2+ years of experience in an engineering, manufacturing, maintenance or technical repair environment
  • Some experience of electronics, electro‑mechanical assembly, repair or fault finding
  • Ability to read engineering drawings or electrical schematics (or willingness to develop this skill)
  • Experience with soldering would be advantageous
  • Good practical skills and a methodical approach to problem solving
  • Computer literate with basic Microsoft Office skills
