GRADE LEVEL(S): Grades 9–12
POSITION OVERVIEW: Morehouse Parish School District seeks a dynamic, student-centered Secondary Teacher committed to excellence in education and student achievement. The successful candidate will deliver rigorous, standards‑aligned instruction in a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment that supports the academic and social‑emotional growth of all students. Candidates must meet Louisiana certification requirements or be eligible for certification through the Louisiana Department of Education (LDOE).
EMPLOYMENT DETAILS: Full‑Time 9‑Month Contract
Salary: In accordance with the MPSD Teacher Pay Scale and applicable state guidelines

Key Responsibilities- Deliver standards‑aligned instruction based on Louisiana Student Standards
- Maintain a positive, structured, and respectful classroom environment
- Use assessment data to inform instruction and improve student learning
- Differentiated instruction to meet diverse student needs
- Integrate technology into instruction
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders
- Participate in professional development and school initiatives
- Maintain compliance with district, state, and federal regulations
- Support MTSS/RTI frameworks
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution
- Valid Louisiana Teaching Certificate or eligibility through an LDOE‑approved pathway
- Knowledge of Louisiana Student Standards and standards‑based instruction
- Effective classroom management, differentiation, and data‑driven teaching skills
- Understanding of FERPA, IDEA, and Section 504 compliance
- Proficiency with instructional technology and student data systems
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Commitment to equity and continuous professional growth
- Master’s degree in education or the content area
- 1–3 years of teaching experience (grades 9–12 preferred)
- Experience with Louisiana Tier 1 curriculum and accountability systems
- Background in data analysis, MTSS/RTI, and progress monitoring
- Experience supporting diverse learners
- Proficiency with Google Workspace, Clever, Edgenuity, or SIS tools
- Participation in PLCs or collaborative planning teams
- Evidence of positive impact on student achievement
