Bastrop High School - Instructional Facilitator
Application Dates: June 30, 2026 – July 12, 2026
Job Purpose: To assist teachers with instructional guidance that will facilitate growth in student and school performance.
Terms of Employment: 10 months
Salary: See MPSD Teacher Pay Scale + 1 Extra Month
Starting Date: July 27, 2026
Position Type: Full-Time
Qualifications: The applicant must possess the certification required by the Louisiana Department of Education and/or Louisiana Board of Elementary & Secondary Education at the time the application begins to hold the position. (See Bulletin 746)
Education, Certification,
Experience:
Master’s degree (or higher) from an accredited college/university in Secondary Education;
Valid Louisiana Teaching Certificate in Middle School 4‑8 or Secondary Grades (preferred); 10 years of teaching experience with satisfactory to highly effective ratings.
- Classroom
Experience:
Several years of successful classroom teaching experience to understand day‑to‑day challenges and build credibility as an instructional leader. - Subject Matter Expertise: Experience teaching in a particular subject area (e.g., Math, English Language Arts, Science); preferred if facilitator focuses on those subjects.
- Diverse Student Populations: Experience working with diverse students, including those with disabilities, English language learners, and varying socio‑economic backgrounds.
- Leadership & Mentorship: Experience in leadership roles such as department head, team leader, or mentor teacher; guide and support teachers as part of collaborative environments.
- Professional Development: Design, deliver, or facilitate professional development sessions for teachers; lead ongoing learning to improve instructional practices.
- Coaching & Mentoring: Provide one‑on‑one coaching, feedback, and mentoring to teachers.
- Curriculum Design & Implementation: Familiarity with curriculum frameworks, especially Louisiana State Standards; assist teachers in implementing state or district‑wide curricula.
- Differentiated Instruction: Experience with differentiated instruction for diverse needs.
- Assessment & Data Analysis: Analyze student data to identify trends and guide instructional decisions.
- Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, principals, and administrators; build interpersonal and communication skills; support collaborative teams; participate in school‑wide initiatives or curriculum committees.
- Technology Integration: Experience integrating technology into classrooms and facilitating use by other teachers; familiarity with LMS (Google Classroom, Canvas) and educational software.
- Technology‑Based Professional Development: Train teachers on educational technology and digital resources.
- State certification:
Valid Louisiana teaching certificate, typically at the master teacher level or higher. - Advanced degree (preferred):
Master’s in education, curriculum and instruction, educational leadership, or related field. - Optional certification in instructional leadership or coaching.
- At least 10 years of relevant experience (preferred).
- Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
