As a Medical Assistant, you will play an important role in supporting our providers and clinical team while helping ensure patients receive efficient, compassionate care throughout their visit.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FORWe are looking for a dependable, compassionate, and patient-focused Medical Assistant who takes pride in providing excellent clinical and customer service. The ideal candidate is organized, attentive to detail, comfortable working in a fast-paced healthcare environment, and able to work effectively with patients, providers, and coworkers.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
Previous medical office or clinical experience preferred.
Certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred, based on department requirements.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred or required within the designated timeframe.
Knowledge of basic medical terminology, clinical procedures, and patient care practices.
Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements.
Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to accurately document patient information and follow established clinical procedures.
Ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team.
As a Medical Assistant, you will support providers and the clinical team by providing both administrative and clinical assistance, including:
Welcome and prepare patients for their appointments in a professional and compassionate manner.
Obtain and document patient vital signs, medical history, medication information, and other pertinent clinical information.
Prepare examination and treatment rooms and ensure necessary supplies and equipment are available.
Assist providers with examinations, procedures, and treatments as directed.
Perform approved clinical procedures within the scope of training, certification, and applicable regulations.
Collect and properly handle laboratory specimens as directed.
Perform or assist with point-of-care testing and other routine clinical tasks.
Administer medications or injections when appropriately trained, authorized, and directed by the provider.
Assist with wound care, dressing changes, and other patient-care activities as assigned.
Prepare patients for diagnostic testing and procedures.
Clean, disinfect, and maintain examination rooms and clinical equipment according to established infection-control standards.
Document patient care accurately and timely in the electronic medical record.
Assist with scheduling appointments, referrals, and follow-up care as needed.
Communicate with pharmacies, laboratories, other healthcare providers, and outside facilities as necessary.
Respond to patient questions and concerns professionally and direct clinical questions to the appropriate provider.
Maintain accurate patient records and protect confidential patient information.
Monitor and maintain adequate clinical supplies and notify appropriate personnel when supplies need to be ordered.
Follow all hospital policies, procedures, safety standards, infection-control practices, and regulatory requirements.
Maintain professional working relationships with providers, coworkers, patients, and visitors.
