WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FORWe're looking for a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Medical-Surgical team. The ideal candidate is an organized, patient-focused professional with excellent clinical judgment who enjoys caring for diverse patient populations in a fast-paced environment. This nurse will work collaboratively with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to provide safe, evidence-based care while promoting positive patient outcomes.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care for medical and surgical patients.
- Monitor patient conditions and promptly identify and communicate changes in clinical status.
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and treatments safely and accurately.
- Care for patients recovering from surgery and those with acute or chronic medical conditions.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatments, procedures, and discharge planning.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
- Promote patient safety by following infection prevention practices, medication safety standards, and hospital policies.
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and changing patient conditions.
- Assist with admissions, transfers, and discharges while ensuring continuity of care.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and ongoing professional development.
- Support a positive, collaborative work environment while delivering compassionate, patient-centered care.
- Current, unrestricted Louisiana Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification preferred or required based on unit needs.
- Previous Medical-Surgical, Acute Care, or Hospital nursing experience preferred.
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication, organization, and time management abilities.
- Ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple patients in a dynamic healthcare environment.
