DG Foods is looking for a qualified and enthusiastic Spot Truck Operator for our facilities in Hazlehurst, MS and Bastrop, LA. You will be operating a Spot Truck with the utmost care to ensure efficiency and safety. Your job could involve operating a Spot Truck around shipping areas maneuvering full-sized refrigerated semi-trailers to and from the shipping dock and other areas.

Essential Job Functions:
Job duties are as follows, but not limited to:
- Maneuvering refrigerated trailers in and around the shipping yardin an efficient and safe mannerutilizinga designated spotter.
- Identify damages andreport anyshippingcontainerdeficiencies.
- Responsible for helpingmaintainand clean equipment.
- Responsible for daily pre-operation check list and pass / fail inspection.
- Responsibletocheckall loaded trailers are properly sealed.
- Performspre-operation inspections daily andis responsible for reporting all deficiencies or damage.
- Responsible for notifyingsupervisorfor Tag Out or Removal from service ifSpot Truckdoesn'tpass inspection.
- Transport raw materials to assigned loading areas.
- Inspect machinery todeterminethe need for repairs and guarantee safety by performing regular maintenance.
- Keep updated recordsandactivity logs.
- Comply with company policies and legal guidelines.
- Helpmaintaina safe and orderly environment for the facilities.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
- You must be coachable because we want you to succeed!
- Must have at least one (1) yearofexperienceoperatinga Spot/Yard truckand/or “Over the road” truck and trailer combination.
- Must be comfortable with working in a fast-paced manufacturing/production environment.
- Attention to detail and familiarity with industrial equipmentisa must.
- At least eighteen (18) years of age.
- Must be legally eligible to workin accordance with federal and state law.
- Musthavedependable transportation to and from DG Food facilities, no exceptions.
- Must be able to work various hours/holidays/weekends.
- Must be able to always wear all required Personal Protective Equipmentwhenrequired.
- Must pass internal skills assessment with a score of 80% or above and must be able todemonstratethe skill set.
- Must be able to perform the functions of a pallet jack operator and a forklift operator. Responsible for keeping truck clean (inside & out), daily maintenance (grease fifth wheel, diesel fueling, DEP filling, etc.)
- Mustpossesshighschool diploma or equivalent. However, other combinations of experience and education will be considered.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to work in a cold and wet environment.
- Mustbe able toworkstanding,walking, and sitting for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift and maneuver up to70pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
