Bastrop High School - English Language Arts Middle School Teacher

We are seeking a passionate, dedicated, and highly qualified ELA Middle School Teacher to join our instructional team. The ideal candidate will foster a positive classroom environment, deliver engaging lessons aligned with state standards, and support students’ academic and personal growth during this pivotal stage of learning.

• Develop and deliver standards-based, differentiated instruction
• Create a classroom culture of high expectations, respect, and inclusivity
• Use data to assess student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
• Collaborate with grade-level and subject-area teams
• Maintain communication with families regarding student performance and behavior
• Participate in professional development and school-wide initiatives

• Certification: Must meet the certification requirements set forth by the Louisiana Department of Education and/or the Louisiana Board of Elementary & Secondary Education at the time of employment. (See Bulletin 746)
• Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in Education (K-12, or 4-8) from an accredited college/university or a related field
  • Master’s degree or advanced coursework in education or in a related discipline is preferred
  • Valid Louisiana teaching certificate with appropriate endorsements
• Experience and Skills:
  • Knowledge of Tier I Louisiana Curriculum and core academic subjects
  • Strong classroom management and instructional skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships with middle school learners
  • Proficiency in integrating digital tools into teaching and learning
    
    Completion of one year of student teaching or an approved internship
  • Prior successful teaching experience is highly desirable
