Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • Valid Texas Teacher Certificate with required endorsements or training for the subject and level assigned
  • ESL Supplemental certification (if applicable)

Responsibilities

Instructional Management:

  • Collaborate with staff to set instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to district requirements, including participation in Response to Intervention, Language Proficiency Assessment, Section 504, and other committees.
  • Develop and deliver lessons aligned with Texas Education Agency guidelines and district policies, incorporating accommodations for diverse learning styles.
  • Use appropriate instructional strategies, activities, materials, and technology to meet student needs.
  • Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement through formal and informal testing.
  • Leverage instructional technology to enhance teaching and learning.
  • Support students in developing study methods and habits.
  • Assist in meeting campus and department improvement objectives.
  • Implement plans for Language Proficiency Assessment, Section 504, Response to Intervention, and Admission, Review and Dismissal committees as required.
  • Deliver instruction following the approved curriculum and required resources.

Student Management:

  • Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to the developmental needs of students.
  • Implement multi‑tiered systems of support, including Positive Behavioral Intervention Systems, Restorative Practices, Trauma‑Informed Practices, and Social‑Emotional Learning.
  • Monitor and report student progress per campus and district guidelines.
  • Maintain student safety and secure classroom materials.
  • Resolve parent and student concerns promptly.
  • Model positive role‑model behavior.
  • Manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Code of Conduct and handbook.
  • Communicate with parents or guardians regarding student progress using district‑approved protocols.

Administrative Functions:

  • Develop and submit lesson plans, including substitute plans, using district templates.
  • Submit grades per district grading policy.
  • Collaborate with district staff to support all student groups.
  • Assist in monitoring student safety and reporting duty assignments.
  • Attend campus events and extracurricular activities as assigned.
  • Assist in selection of books, equipment, and instructional materials.
  • Compile, maintain, and submit required reports and records.
  • Supervise volunteer assignments in the classroom when applicable.
  • Follow district and department policies and procedures.

Professional Growth:

  • Participate in professional development aligned with campus and program needs.
  • Attend faculty meetings and serve on committees as required.

Performance Indicators:

  • Analyze data to address individual student needs.
  • Administer state‑mandated testing in compliance with guidelines.
  • Review campus test data to plan corrective actions.
