Teacher, Substitute

Substitute Teachers will step in to cover absent teachers, ensuring continuity of instruction across the district. Their primary responsibility is to follow the assigned lesson plans and uphold the school and system-wide curriculum goals.

In the absence of a Teacher or Support Staff, follow regular lesson plans to ensure consistency and instruction continues without interruption.

• High School Diploma and/or GED
• Texas Certified or college degree preferred
• Successful background check; employee responsible for approximately $50 non‑refundable fingerprinting fee.

• Ability to work well with children and adults
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
• Preferred background with children in an educational setting

• Follow teacher plans and present information and instruction to help students learn
• Maintain instruction compatible with school and system‑wide curriculum goals
• Interact effectively with students, parents, and staff
• Adhere to established laws, policies, rules, and regulations as presented in the Substitute Handbook and online district policies

Provide guidance and direction as assigned.

• Tools/Equipment:
  Personal computer and peripherals; standard instructional equipment
• Posture: prolonged standing; frequent kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, twisting
• Motion: frequent walking
• Lifting: regular light lifting and carrying (
