As a Production Manager, you will lead and scale high-performance teams responsible for the in sourcing of custom integrated circuits and packages — from rapid prototyping through high-volume production. This role requires close collaboration with engineering, supply chain, operations, and management to solve problems quickly in a demanding, fast-paced cleanroom environment. The ideal candidate is motivated by Starlink’s mission to deliver high-speed, low-latency global connectivity.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Ensure a strong focus is placed on safety and maintain an excellent safety record
- Create training and career development paths to boost quality, reduce lead time/cost
- Define and enforce operational standards with strict accountability
- Hire, lead, and mentor a team of supervisors, specialists, technicians and associates to perform silicon packaging and processing operations (wafer die prep, singulation, die attach, compression molding, deposition, photolithography, electrochemical plating, etch, inspection, test, etc.)
- Drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes, procedures, quality, and rate, including large scaling for high-volume production
- Support new product introductions, line expansions, and facility upgrades
- Collaborate with development, test, quality, and leadership to align long-term goals & resolve complex issues
- Ensure compliance with industry standards (e.g. ISO, SEMI, JEDEC) and Space
X safety protocols, while fostering culture of continuous improvement, operational excellence & high-performance - Mentor and develop team members, conduct performance reviews, to maintain a world-class manufacturing organization
- Travel as needed (up to 10%) to include internationally
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or STEM discipline; OR 4+ years of professional leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
- 3+ years of production operations or process development experience
- 2+ years of experience in a leadership position
- Advanced degree in engineering or technical discipline
- Experience building out a multidisciplinary production organization
- Experience leading multi-level production operations teams with 50+ members
- Experience in semiconductor/integrated circuitry industry (e.g. FPGA, ASIC, Power Components)
- Experience leading New Product Integration to volume production
- Experience with the equipment and ancillary support systems used to manufacture semiconductors front end wafer and back end packaging)
- Experience with equipment qualification, validation, and troubleshooting in cleanroom or controlled environments
- Excellent communication skills, with experience presenting technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Experience in low-high mix/extreme high-volume and implementing/sustaining quality management systems (e.g. ISO
9001, AS9100)
- Must be willing to work overtime and/or weekends as needed.
- Standing for long periods of time, climbing up and down ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing stooping, and stretching may be required to perform the functions of this position
- Able to travel up to 10% as needed
- Must be able to lift up to 25lbs. unassisted
