Overview
SpaceX is seeking a Business Analyst (Starlink Growth). Starlink delivers low-latency broadband internet worldwide, connecting consumers in remote and underserved areas. The Growth team analyzes market trends, optimizes acquisition strategies, and informs pricing and retention initiatives. The role focuses on consumer metrics and insights, conducting research and reporting to support data-driven decisions that accelerate subscriber growth and enhance user value.
Responsibilities- Perform in-depth analyses of consumer metrics (e.g., Lifetime Value, Customer Acquisition Cost, churn, and cohort performance) using SQL and quantitative methods to identify trends and opportunities.
- Develop forecasting models for subscriber growth, revenue projections, and market penetration, incorporating external factors such as competitive landscapes and economic indicators.
- Create and maintain dashboards and visualizations (Tableau, Power BI, Looker) to track KPIs for consumer acquisition, retention, and engagement.
- Conduct market research and price analysis, evaluating elasticity and promotional impacts to optimize pricing and affordability.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, product, and sales to translate insights into growth strategies, including support for A/B testing and scenario planning.
- Identify data gaps and work with engineering to improve data collection for consumer use cases with robust datasets.
- Deliver presentations and reports to stakeholders, translating technical findings into clear, business-oriented recommendations.
- Support ad-hoc research projects, blending qualitative insights with quantitative analysis.
- 2+ years of professional experience in business analytics, consulting, market research, or growth operations.
- 1+ years of experience with SQL and creating/managing dashboards using data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Looker).
- Bachelor's degree in business, economics, statistics, computer science, or a related quantitative field.
- Advanced SQL skills (complex joins, window functions, query optimization).
- Experience with forecasting, financial metrics (e.g., LTV, CAC), or pricing analysis.
- Proficiency in statistical modeling and forecasting techniques (e.g., time-series, regression in Python or R).
- Experience with ETL, data pipelines, or automation scripting (e.g., Python, VBA).
- Background in high-growth consumer tech environments, startups, or consulting with a focus on customer acquisition and retention.
- Strong research skills with familiarity using market intelligence tools.
- Excellent communication abilities with a track record of presenting insights to non-technical audiences and influencing cross-functional teams.
- Project management experience in fast-paced settings with diverse stakeholders.
- May involve extended hours and weekend work as needed.
- Possibility of travel between SpaceX sites.
