IT Network Administrator

Job Overview

IT Network Administrator – SpaceX, Bastrop, TX, US. Full‑time, on‑site position responsible for maintaining and supporting the campus network for rocket, spacecraft, and satellite operations.

• Procure, configure, and install network hardware, including switches, access points, UPS, and PDUs
• Troubleshoot and resolve network‑related issues
• Plan and coordinate network outage windows with stakeholders to perform software updates, hardware refreshes, and general network maintenance
• Configure and troubleshoot network access control (NAC) and other security features
• Perform job walks with customers, vendors, and contractors to gather network requirements, and create implementation plans accordingly
• Build and maintain our IDF rooms across the campus in accordance with our network standards
• Monitor network health using in‑house and third‑party tools
• Continuously create and update network documentation
• Maintain network hardware inventory

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate
• 3+ years of experience in IT network administration

• Understanding of the OSI model and network standards
• Hands‑on experience with Cisco Catalyst and Arista data center class switches
• Hands‑on experience with Cisco wireless LAN controllers or other wireless technologies
• Experience with wave division multiplexing and fiber optics
• Knowledge of DNS, DHCP, SNMP, IP helpers, ARP, CDP, or LLDP
• Experience configuring switch port security features
• Experience with network monitoring tools
• Documentation and procedural installation skills
• Linux and Windows system administration experience
• Industry standard certifications such as CCNA or CCNP

• Must be willing to work extended hours and occasional weekends when necessary to support launch and critical project timelines
• Ability to lift up to 35 lbs. unassisted
