The Maintenance Worker 1 performs preventive and corrective maintenance in the plant under management supervision.

• Complete preventive maintenance program independently as assigned.
• Assist other maintenance personnel on fabrication or construction projects and perform corrective maintenance on plant and equipment.
• Conduct daily greasing, oiling, and painting of plant equipment.
• Replace equipment parts with minimal direction; perform gearbox rebuilds, pipe work, packing replacement, and pump rebuilds.
• Use cutting torch, weld mild steel with stick welder, perform fabrication and hydraulic repairs.
• Rewire motors and perform basic electrical work.
• Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area at all times.
• Use assigned personal protective equipment and observe all company safety rules and regulations.
• Attend regularly scheduled safety meetings and may serve on the Safety Committee.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

• High School diploma or GED.
• Experience operating a forklift.

• Vocational school training preferred.
• Basic knowledge of general maintenance and equipment operations.
• General mechanical aptitude with basic 480‑V electrical skills.
• Good math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division of whole numbers, fractions, and decimals).

The role may involve exposure to high noise levels, strong odors, heat, and cold. Workers may encounter biohazard or toxic chemical conditions, electrical hazards, hazardous equipment, and off‑site travel. Responsibilities require the ability to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, climb ladders, and move or lift moderate loads up to 50 pounds. Vision demands include clear vision at close and distance ranges, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
