STARLINK SPECIALIST, TOOL AND DIE MANUFACTURING

One of the most ambitious missions that the company has undertaken to date, the Starlink satellite constellation, is our solution to providing reliable internet to the entire world. We are looking for talented manufacturing specialists to help establish new manufacturing and test processes to support Tool and Die. This department is responsible for producing dies (also known as tools or molds) used in processes such as injection molding, high pressure diecasting, and stamping.

These dies are the building blocks that enable in-house high volume production for user terminal components.

The success of Starlink depends on the quality, reliability, cost, manufacturability, and throughput of the products that you deliver. This role will be an ideal next career step if you seek a fast-paced and dynamic environment, thrive on solving difficult problems where resolutions have high impact, and love the challenge of building something from scratch.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Help execute new product builds from raw material across all CNC work and tool assembly
  • Triage non-conforming machined components and help implement resolution and preventative actions
  • Develop manufacturing standards that lead to increased consistency and reliability of the shop
  • Work with the team to help develop in-house machining maintenance processes
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities for yield, rate, and cost
  • Use CAD and part drawings to implement work instructions and validate part quality
  • Work with complex, tight tolerance parts and various materials
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 3+ years of professional experience in a hands‑on manufacturing environment; OR bachelor's degree in an engineering, math, or science discipline
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • 2+ years of developing raw material flow through a machine shop
  • 2+ years experience with a CAD program such as NX or Solidworks
  • 2+ years experience with CNCs, EDMs, welding, and other manufacturing processes common in the Tool and Die industry
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and teamwork skills
  • Excellent computer skills (email, Microsoft Windows, Excel)
  • Ability to provide process and design improvement suggestions to engineering
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be willing to work the following hours:
    • 2nd shift:
Monday to Friday from 3:30pm to 2:00am
  • Able to work overtime and weekends as needed
  • Standing for long periods of time, climbing up and down ladders, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and stretching may be required to perform the functions of this position
