Machine Maintenance Supervisor (Starlink) - Multiple Shifts

Bastrop, TX

SpaceX was founded under the belief that a future where humanity is out exploring the stars is fundamentally more exciting than one where we are not. Today SpaceX is actively developing the technologies to make this possible, with the ultimate goal of enabling human life on Mars.

At SpaceX, we are applying decades of experience designing, building, and flying rockets and spacecraft to deploy Starlink—the world’s most advanced broadband internet system. Starlink is the largest satellite constellation ever built and already delivers fast, reliable internet to millions of users worldwide. We design, manufacture, test, and operate every element of the system: thousands of satellites, user terminals that connect within minutes of unboxing, and the software that ties it all together.

We are only beginning to realize Starlink’s potential global impact and are seeking exceptional talent to help maximize its value for communities and businesses around the world.

SpaceX is looking for an experienced Machine Maintenance Supervisor to lead maintenance operations that support Starlink production and operations. In this role, you will build and develop a high-performing maintenance team and establish the processes, standards, and culture needed for excellence. You will manage schedules, workflows, and resources in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while ensuring equipment reliability and uptime that directly enable Starlink’s mission.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Lead the build-out and development of a high-performing team of multi-skilled technicians capable of supporting the full range of process equipment used in Starlink production
  • Establish and continuously refine Preventive Maintenance (PM) work plans and schedules for all assets
  • Drive collaboration with engineers and planners to define corrective maintenance strategies and target completion dates based on failure analysis, ensuring they feed into robust Preventive Maintenance (PM) schedules
  • Spearhead the partnership with engineering to stay current on emerging technologies and proactively evaluate/implement solutions that improve production operations and equipment reliability
  • Build and manage a spares inventory strategy tailored to each equipment type to fully support the overall maintenance approach
  • Direct coordination with the scheduler to ensure the right technicians and contractors are assigned to complete the full Preventive Maintenance (PM) schedule
  • Oversee the execution of all maintenance work, including emergency breakdowns, while actively monitoring progress and removing obstacles
  • Lead hands-on troubleshooting and technical decision-making as needed to drive timely resolution of issues
  • Ensure clear, proactive communication of work progress and status to all stakeholders at every stage
  • Develop and manage key performance metrics (Uptime, OEE, Mean Time to Repair, etc.) to drive data-based decision making across the department
  • Verify and confirm that all maintenance activities have been completed as planned and that assets are restored to required operating specifications
  • Identify residual risks or effects after repairs and take decisive action to prevent recurrence
  • Lead root cause analysis and deliver high-quality reports that feed learning and improvement opportunities back to maintenance engineers and asset owners
  • Assign the correct skills to every job, maintain an accurate skills matrix for the entire technician team, and proactively identify and close training gaps
  • Manage daily activity logging, major breakdown reporting, workforce shift utilization, and absence requests to ensure full operational visibility and control
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of professional experience in machining, maintenance, or production/manufacturing; OR 5+ years of professional experience in machining, maintenance, or production/manufacturing
  • 1+ years of experience directly leading a team or project
