Officer, Purchasing

Overview

Purchasing Officer is responsible for sourcing and buying materials & equipment needed for shipyard operations, shipbuilding and repair projects. The role ensures items are purchased on time, at the right quality, and within budget. This position works with vendors, compares quotations, prepares purchase orders, and coordinates with internal teams to support daily shipbuilding and ship repair activities.

• Sourcing and buying materials & equipment needed for shipyard operations, shipbuilding and repair projects.
• Negotiating contracts, pricing & delivery schedules to secure the best possible deals.
• Perform cost-benefit analysis to ensure that procurement decisions align with organization’s budget & financial goals.
• Identify opportunities for cost savings & process improvements within procurement functions.
• Monitor & ensure materials delivered as per schedule.
• Coordinate with various stakeholders to align procurement activities with business needs & ensure smooth operations.

• Bachelor/Diploma in Supply Chain Management/Business Administration/Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management, preferably in a shipyard or industrial environment.
• Experience in the shipyard or marine industry will be a strong advantage, particularly with familiarity in shipbuilding, repair, and offshore-related materials and equipment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems like SAP is necessary.
• The candidate must be fluent in both English and Bahasa Indonesia.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
