Overview

Responsible for the purchasing of various commodity categories across multiple entities in Batam Indonesia and Southeast Asia and at the most economical total cost, consistent with the standards of quality required in accordance with Corporate Purchasing policies and procedures. The position reports to the Purchasing Manager and represents the Plant Buyer function in multiple manufacturing and logistics services sites. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, team oriented, highly motivated and a strong communicator.

• Deliver targeted outcomes while maintaining a strategic approach to purchasing.
• Optimize purchasing processes and the supplier base to ensure fulfillment of cost, quality, and delivery expectations.
• Monitor the effectiveness of purchasing activities and assess supplier performance.

• Lead and promote Purchasing Organization
• Lead governance & coordination:
  Set up purchasing quality & excellence; ensure high quality standards achievement required by the Group
• Manage purchasing excellence & performance
• Develop purchasing strategies:
  Analysis of spending & track savings
• Build and implement Purchasing Strategy & process
• Identify purchasing projects
• Analyze needs
• Prepare, launch and run RFx
• Negotiate agreements
• Achieve purchasing targets
• Sign and manage contracts
• Supply process:
  Execute requests to order (according local / region organization)
• Apply POA/DOA guidelines
• Capacity to collaborate with purchasing teams
• Promote interaction with company business
• Have strong communication skills written and verbal
• Provide accurate reports to management

• Fundamental understanding of Company business & products
• Analytical skills: ability to use and exploit internal tools (P2P, ERP, Excel…)

Bachelor’s degree; a minimum of 5 years of purchasing experience, preferably in logistics; project management experience; advanced academic qualification is a plus; fluent in Indonesian and English.

General skills:
Strong collaboration abilities, effective written and verbal communication, and the ability to deliver accurate reports to management.
