Technician; Maker & Filter - Tobacco Manufacturing

Job Overview

A Mechanical Technician is responsible for the inspection, installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment. Tasks include troubleshooting, component replacement, routine upkeep, diagnosing malfunctions, assembling and disassembling mechanical parts, calibrating machinery, reading blueprints and schematics, fabricating parts, ensuring safety compliance, and maintaining detailed maintenance records to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.

• Inspect, install, maintain, and repair mechanical systems, machinery, and equipment.
• Diagnose malfunctions and perform troubleshooting.
• Assemble and disassemble mechanical parts and calibrate machinery.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and machine manuals.
• Fabricate parts and conduct routine upkeep.
• Ensure safety compliance and maintain accurate maintenance records.
• Perform maintenance and repairs outside of business hours if required.
• Conduct continuous improvement activities and projects.
• Handle ad‑hoc assignments as needed.

Minimum education:

Senior high school (or equivalent).

• At least 5 years’ experience as a technician or maker working with filter machines in tobacco manufacturing.
• Extensive knowledge of mechanical engineering designs, installations, maintenance, and repairs.
• Ability to understand technical drawings and machine manuals.
• Exceptional analytical, critical‑thinking, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Strong organizational and time‑management abilities.
• Hands‑on experience with industrial machinery and mechanical aptitude.
• Physical capability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
• Effective communication skills to coordinate with team members and report on operational status.

Willingness to perform maintenance and repairs outside of business hours.
