What You’ll Do:- Develop comprehensive product and process requirements, standards, and detailed documentation to ensure precision and quality.
- Collaborate closely with clients, regulatory agencies, and market analysis to define and refine design specifications.
- Prepare technical briefs, support literature, and create prototype design packages in partnership with cross‑functional teams such as manufacturing, quality, and design.
- Lead the development of prototype and pre‑production build schedules, managing resources effectively to meet project deadlines.
- Assist in building, testing, and evaluating prototypes, ensuring they meet all specifications and standards.
- Support agency certification processes (UL, CE, CSA, VDE, etc.) by interpreting test requirements, preparing procedures, and guiding testing activities.
- Conduct tests and experiments, analyze results, and generate detailed reports to inform design improvements.
- Develop and document production process plans and procedures to optimise manufacturing efficiency.
- Implement design improvements to products and processes, ensuring continuous enhancement.
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting to production teams to maintain quality and efficiency.
- Participate in Engineering Change Control processes, audits, and data analysis to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Conduct failure analysis, manage non‑conforming materials, and implement corrective actions proactively.
- Research and evaluate suppliers, sourcing new materials and components to enhance product performance.
- Offer on‑site customer support as needed, fostering strong client relationships.
- Adhere strictly to safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support team and organisational goals.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
- Minimum of five years of engineering experience with demonstrated project planning and organisational skills.
- Strong understanding of core engineering principles, including physics, metallurgy, fluids, thermodynamics, heat transfer, electrical theory, and testing.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite,
Solid Works or equivalent 3D modelling software, and analysis tools. - Familiar with ERP systems and familiar with Lean, Six Sigma, ISO 9001 quality standards.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes such as casting, machining, electrical assembly, and product testing.
- Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across all organisational levels.
- A professional demeanor with a proactive approach to challenges.
- Experience with certification processes or regulatory compliance.
- Ability to interpret and act on statistical data and trends.
- Hands‑on experience supporting on‑site customer installations and troubleshooting.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
- At least five years of practical engineering experience in product development and manufacturing environments.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites or suppliers as needed.
- Certifications related to engineering, quality, or safety are advantageous.
