Job Role s and Responsibilities
Develop semi-metallic, non-asbestos organic (NAO), and other friction materials for industrial and specialty applications.
Design, execute, and analyze material development and validation programs.
Lead projects from formulation through testing, pilot production, and commercialization.
Support manufacturing during scale-up, process validation, and production launches.
Conduct material characterization and failure analysis using laboratory and analytical tools.
Collaborate with operations, quality, engineering, suppliers, and customers.
Document technical findings and present recommendations to stakeholders.
Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in products and processes.
Qualifications and CertificationsBachelor's degree in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
5+ years of experience in friction materials, composites, polymers, engineered materials, or related product development environments.
Experience with material formulation, testing, and validation.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to work effectively in both laboratory and manufacturing environments.
Experience developing friction materials across a broad range of applications.
Familiarity with mixing, molding, curing, and finishing processes.
Experience with analytical tools such as DSC, TGA, FTIR, microscopy, or related characterization methods.
Experience with Design of Experiments (DOE) and statistical analysis.
