Shift: 1st Shift 4 AM–2 PM | 2nd Shift 2 PM–12 AM | Monday through Thursday (with some overtime on Fridays)
Summary DescriptionWhile reporting directly to the Shift Supervisor, this role supports the finishing department by packaging product to specification, assisting production flow, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring a safe and clean work environment. The responsibilities listed below are not exhaustive, and employees are expected to perform other duties assigned by management as needed.
What You’ll Be Doing- Package product to meet all specified requirements
- Ensure all nonconforming material is segregated, properly identified, and stacked together
- Report all unidentified non-conformances
- Support Gluers as a packer/inspector
- Place stacks of cards into gluer feed tables and/or catch glued product and place into cases
- Interact and communicate positively with other departments
- Maintain a clean and safe work area, including completion of sweep sheets at the end of each shift
- Follow all safety and operational procedures
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- At least 6 months of packing experience preferred
- Comfortable handling complex issues and solving problems
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects safely
- Ability to place cards into corrugated boxes (approximately 1 to 2 pounds per card)
- Ability to push at chest height (8 to 45 pounds)
- Ability to pull at waist height (5 to 10 pounds)
- Ability to reach/stretch 20 inches while holding approximately 5 pounds
- Ability to handle cases ranging from 8 to 45 pounds depending on size and quantity
- Ability to stand for 8+ hours per day
- Ability to work in indoor manufacturing conditions including heat, humidity, and production noise
Indoor manufacturing environment. Summer temperatures can reach up to 100°F. Exposure to humidity. Noise from production machinery (below 85 DSP).
