Job Summary
The Spot Welder will be responsible for setting up, operating, and performing welding work to fabricate metal parts and components according to customer specifications. The welder will perform MIG/TIG welding and review drawings and specifications to accurately weld parts and metal components.
Key Responsibilities- Employ a diverse range of welding techniques, including Mild Steel, Stainless Steel, and Aluminum.
- Interpret and comprehend blueprints and formulas to determine precise welding requirements for each project.
- Use precision instruments such as calipers, tape measures, and squares.
- Perform TIG and MIG welding techniques as per technical drawings.
- Collaborate in the production process and support machine operators as required.
- Maintain a clean and organized welding environment at all times.
- Perform additional responsibilities assigned by supervisor, which may include department transfers or special projects to meet production needs.
- Use inspection methods including tape measure, calipers, and fillet gages.
- Interpret AWS weld symbols.
- Read and interpret blueprints.
- Communicate effectively orally and in writing with all levels of the company and customers regarding job responsibilities.
- Resolve troubleshooting and problem‑resolution challenges.
- Organize work assignments and prioritize urgent matters to meet deadlines.
- Apply engineering concepts and practices appropriately.
- Provide clear written and verbal communication.
- Read, write and speak English fluently.
- High School Graduate or GED required.
- MIG/TIG welding experience with Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, and Aluminum.
- Proficiency in reading, interpreting, and understanding weld symbols, blueprints, and drawings.
- Experience with quality inspection equipment (gages, micrometers, rulers); GD&T preferred.
Work Environment Requirements
- Regularly required to stand and reach for the duration of shift (8–10 hours).
- Frequently required to talk or hear.
- Occasionally required to walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or bend.
- Manually lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required: close vision 20/20 or corrected to 20/20.
- Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts.
- Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles from metalworking coolants and oils.
- Noise level can be loud; hearing protection required.
