Pay Rate: $23.00/hr

Shift: 1st

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Operate computer console to perform work on assigned machines where complex setups are performed by others. Ability to use measurement tools to check work. Ability to make simple adjustments to machines and accurately operate a computer console.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operate CNC machines, including horizontal and vertical mills and lathes.
  • Familiar with a wide range of production operations
  • Read and interpret complex prints, draw sketches, make recommendations for correcting prints
  • Select appropriate feeds and speeds, set up job according to prints and set-up procedures, and pull/adjust fixtures
  • Participate in improvement in production, service, quality, and safety
  • Work closely with many departments at one time to complete product
  • Ensure that quality performance meets or exceeds customer expectations
  • Use all communication channels to share information quickly and accurately
  • Ensure accuracy of inventory transactions, complete documentation appropriate to job, determine whether tooling/fixtures are available or find approved substitutes
  • Perform in-process inspection
  • Have the flexibility to work in other departments as cross trained and required
  • Be safety conscious
  • Other duties as assigned

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

  • High school diploma
  • Able to communicate effectively (verbal, written and active listening) at all organization levels and functions
  • Good math, measurement and written/verbal comprehension skills
  • Able to measure using established tolerances--micrometer, calipers; understand quality specs
  • Able to read basic prints and drawings, charts, graphs
  • Able to understand manufacturing orders, routings, special chances and other miscellaneous forms
  • Able to use production equipment, hand tools, testing devises and other miscellaneous equipment and tools
  • Good mechanical aptitude, as well as analytical and problem solving skills
  • Good team membership skills
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Able to plan, prioritize, organize and demonstrate attention to detail
  • Computer literate
