Ext​/Lam Operator

Job Responsibilities

• Lead all aspects of operation of extrusion lines (Blown Film or Coater lines) including changeovers, machine startup, running, and shutdown.
• Support operations in becoming world class in all aspects of the business, beginning with safety.
• Run all jobs in accordance with customer specifications, manufacturing specifications, and standard operating procedures.
• Organize, record, and ensure proper storage of resin.
• Adjust machine specifications, pressures, and equipment for each job.
• Ensure all appropriate paperwork is filled out accurately and completely.
• Work with and direct the extrusion assistant and other teammates to minimize job change‑over and downtime.
• Train and direct the extrusion assistant to become efficient at all required assistant duties defined in each level of the assistant training matrix on time.
• Understand and enforce product safety responsibilities.
• Comply with all 5S and WCM initiatives (cross‑training, moving to the work).
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

• Ability to lift up to 50–60 lbs.
• Willing and able to stand and walk for an 8/12 hour shift.
• Frequent reaching, bending, stooping, kneeling, and twisting.
• Frequent use of wrist and hands.
• Frequent stepping up and down from platforms.

• Previous manufacturing experience.
• Knowledgeable and able to understand a computer and programs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Good organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to interact effectively and professionally with others in a team environment.
