Assembler
The Assembler will build and prepare custom industrial components by assembling parts, performing electrical and helium leak testing, and ensuring products meet quality and safety standards. This role involves working with mechanical and electrical components, using hand tools and measuring equipment, maintaining accurate inventory records, and supporting production and shipping activities within a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities- Assemble parts using connectors, plugs, jacks, heads, brazing, welding cement, or pot cavities in accordance with specifications and procedures.
- Perform required measuring and testing, including electrical testing such as hi-pot tests and ohm meter readings, as well as helium leak testing, to verify product performance and integrity.
- Use all available communication channels to share production, quality, and inventory information quickly and accurately with team members and supervisors.
- Conduct in-process inspections using basic math, measuring tools, and quality specifications to ensure products meet required standards at each stage.
- Receive, count, and pull parts following established procedures to ensure all required components are available for each build.
- Verify the accuracy of inventory transactions, complete proper documentation, and maintain up-to-date records of material movements.
- Enter raw material information into the computer inventory system, verify current inventory levels, and support cycle count activities.
- Design and build boxes and crates, pack products securely, and check product quality prior to shipment.
- Sequence and organize product shipments by following established processes and completing all required shipping paperwork for prepared orders.
- Maintain flexibility and cross-training knowledge to support assignments in other departments as production needs change.
- Maintain a strong focus on safety and quality by following all workplace safety guidelines and quality procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support overall production, quality, and shipping operations.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to work with mechanical and electrical components.
- Production or general production experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment.
- Ability to use hand tools safely and effectively.
- Basic math skills, including working with fractions, decimals, and measurement conversions.
- Ability to perform in-process inspections using measuring tools and quality specifications.
- Capability to follow procedures for receiving, counting, and pulling parts.
- Ability to maintain attention to detail to ensure accurate inventory transactions and documentation.
- Strong safety and quality focus in all tasks performed.
- Ability to communicate and share information clearly within a team environment.
Skills & Qualifications
- High school education preferred.
- Computer literacy sufficient to use shop floor and inventory systems.
- Mechanical aptitude with knowledge of measuring tools such as scales and calipers.
- Ability to read and understand prints, drawings, charts, graphs, and shop paperwork.
- Ability to understand and apply quality specifications to assembled products.
- Willingness to learn and apply electrical testing methods, including hi-pot tests and ohm meter readings.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize duties to complete tasks efficiently, safely, and with high quality.
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively in a team-based environment.
