Support the General Manager in retail operations while gaining skills needed to advance to store management. Act as onsite manager in the absence of the General Manager. Work with cross‑functional partners for a broader organizational understanding.
Primary Responsibilities- Follow and uphold sales and customer‑service policies to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Assist all Dispensary Associates in consulting customers and ensuring knowledge of product choices and consumption methods.
- Complete and appropriately delegate tasks during the shift, including:
- Correct cash handling.
- Accurate use and maintenance of the POS system.
- Accurate and timely data entry in the POS and inventory systems.
- Assistance in verifying order deliveries.
- Ensure adherence to security measures and safety compliance.
- Maintain an organized and clean store.
- Manage the visitor log.
- Send end‑of‑day update emails.
- Ensure accuracy with the vault.
- Work with the management team to ensure operations run smoothly and are compliant with applicable rules and regulations.
- Address daily activities, maintenance, and data collection for issues or complaints.
- Handle opening and closing procedures.
- Assist with onboarding, training, and development of new staff.
- Partner with GM in recruiting, onboarding, training, and development of dispensary staff.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to foster staff growth.
- Enforce accountability to Dutchess policies and procedures through coaching and disciplinary measures.
- Prioritize and uphold operational compliance per regulatory standards and company policies.
- Impact business results by driving KPIs.
- Develop effective P&L management skills.
- Ensure clear communication to teams by leading daily communication to staff.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional partners to execute company initiatives.
- Influence process improvements and support implementation of changes.
- Foster positive and productive relationships with cross‑functional partners.
- Execute and maintain physical and digital merchandising standards.
- Establish, communicate, and monitor best‑in‑class customer service standards across all channels.
- Drive continuous improvement of the store and staff.
- Monitor and maintain inventory and communicate inventory action items to GM.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- High school diploma or GED.
- 2+ years experience in a supervisory or management role in retail, specifically with POS operations.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Strong retail math skills.
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Positive attitude, team player, and strong work ethic.
- Understanding of applicable state and local laws related to industry, personnel law, safety regulations, municipal codes, and organizational rules and SOPs.
- Compliance with all regulatory requirements for the cannabis industry.
- Excellent organization and time‑management skills.
- Attention to detail.
- Ability to internalize training and follow instructions.
- Clear and effective communication skills.
- Flexibility to work nights and weekends.
