The expected hiring range for this position is:
$70,800.00-$93,200.00.

The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such the scope and responsibilities of the position, qualifications of the selected candidate, business considerations, internal equity, and external market pay for comparable jobs.

About the Role:Fermilab's Finance & Procurement Division seeks an On Call Financial Analysis. The On Call Financial Analysis will create and interpret moderately complex financial statements and reports in a specific accounting area. This individual will compile financial information, process transactions, and execute control procedures. The Financial Analysis will exercises independent decision-making in assigned general area of responsibility.
What your day-to-day as an On Call Financial Analysis at Fermilab will look like:- Prepare moderately complex financial statements/reports for management, the Department of Energy, taxing bodies, and others within or outside the Laboratory.
- Develop and interpret moderately complex ad-hoc reports and analyses to respond to information needs of management and others within or outside the laboratory.
- Create or extensively modify ad-hoc queries using the system query tool to meet the information needs in area of assignment.
- Record, classify and summarize accounting transactions in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Analyze moderately complex problems or discrepancies and execute corrective action or provides supervisor with analysis and recommended action.
- Reconcile complex sub-ledgers to the general ledger and resolves differences.
- Assist in controlling the monthly and year-end close processes.
- Create and transmit sensitive, confidential and/or time-critical data to third parties.
- Provide recommendations for the development or revision of policies and procedures.
- Develop test cases and/or execute testing related to the implementation or upgrade of financial software applications.
- Assist supervisor in identifying, reporting, testing, and resolving/implementing system problems/enhancements.
- Communicate with employees, users and outside individuals or organizations about accounting transactions in assigned area and resolves issues and discrepancies.
- Maintain accounting records pertinent to assigned area, including procedure manual.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Abide by and is responsible for performing all duties in accordance with all environmental, health and safety regulations and practices pertinent to this position.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Business and a minimum 3+ years of accounting experience is required.
- Master's degree or Accounting related Professional Certification such as CPA or CMA is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
- Governmental Accounting experience preferred.
