The expected hiring range for this position is:
$63,200.00-$89,400.00.
Please note that the pay range information is a general guideline only. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such the scope and responsibilities of the position, qualifications of the selected candidate, business considerations, internal equity, and external market pay for comparable jobs.
What your day-to-day as an Application Physicist at Fermilab will look like:- Job assignments may include investigating, defining and resolving assigned technical and scientific problems. Activities include setting up and monitoring tests, contributing to operations of facilities, application of modeling and simulation tools, writing reports, and evaluations for technical and scientific activities.
- Provides technical advice to Technicians and other scientific professionals regarding the technical aspects of the research activities, including methods development, trouble‑shooting problems, interpreting results and planning follow‑up experiments.
- Prepares technical reports and papers on research and development activities.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Abides by and is responsible for performing all duties in accordance with all environmental, health and safety regulations and practices pertinent to this position.
Minimum of 4+ years post PhD. Appointment may be for a term or an indefinite period; appointees will usually possess a Ph.D. or equivalent. Term appointees will usually have completed at least one term as Research Associate; indefinite appointees will usually have completed one or two terms as a Research Associate or one term as an Associate Scientist, or have equivalent experience.
