SummaryThe Security Officer is responsible for patrolling and inspecting all areas of Suncast properties, including manufacturing facilities, warehouses, and office premises to monitor and report such incidents as fire, theft, vandalism, terrorism, and any illegal activity. The Safety / Security department is required to work whenever the facility is in operation. This may require off‑shift, weekend, and holiday work.
Responsibilities- Patrol offices, manufacturing areas, and warehouses following an assigned schedule and observe employee safety, possible fire hazards, machine safety violations, and facility safety violations.
- Document patrol findings in accordance with Suncast policy and procedures.
- Inspect exit and emergency lights and door locks for proper operation.
- Acknowledge visitors at the security desk. Ensure that only authorized visitors are permitted in the facility. Contact the appropriate employee regarding visitors. Follow Suncast policy concerning unexpected visitors.

- Ensure that visitors have the required safety equipment if they are going in the manufacturing area.
- Monitor employees leaving the building for lunches and breaks. Ensure that all employees follow established policies for signing in and out.
- Notify employees of rule violations and document incidents in accordance with policy.
- Monitor employee purchases and other company property leaving Suncast property.
- Monitor the facilities and document damage or wear.
- Lock doors and set alarms according to the pre‑established schedule.
- Respond to emergencies such as employee injuries or fires. Contact the appropriate emergency assistance, both within Suncast and outside of Suncast. Maintain order and calmness during emergency situations and threats to the safety and security of the facilities and personnel.

- Comply with all OSHA and other regulations while performing duties.
- Coordinate the evacuation of the premises when required.
- Coordinate emergency communications and actions as required.
- Monitor the surveillance cameras. Investigate potential problems.
- Collect and ensure all UPS and Fed Ex packages leave the premises on a daily basis.
- Transport employees to and from the clinic for medical treatment or drug and alcohol testing as needed.
- Support and comply with all Suncast safety policies, quality standards, and housekeeping methods at all times.
- Explain company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations.
- Work with other departments on specific projects and initiatives.
- High school or GED education required.
- Manufacturing or warehouse experience a plus. One year of security guard experience or security guard training not necessary but acceptable.
- CPR, EMT, or other emergency response training is a strong plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Spanish language fluency a plus
- Basic PC skills including Microsoft Office products
- Ability to operate and monitor surveillance equipment and/or closed circuit camera systems
75% working in manufacturing facility; 25% in office environment. Occasional outdoor patrols required.
Extended periods of time spent standing and walking the facility.
Hiring for 1st, 2nd and 3rd shifts.
