Blue Peak Tents is one of the largest event tent companies in the Midwest. We design, install, and tear down high‑end tent structures for corporate events, estate weddings, festivals, and large‑scale productions across Chicagoland and beyond. The RoleWe’re hiring Field Crew members to load, install, and tear down commercial event tents and related equipment. This is physical, hands‑on outdoor work for people who like working with their hands, take pride in being part of a team, and want a real path to grow. This is the entry point into Blue Peak’s field operations and a strong stepping‑stone toward driver and crew lead positions for the right person.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Load and unload trucks at the warehouse and on event sites
- Install, set up, break down, and remove tents, flooring, and related equipment
- Follow the project plan and take direction from your Project Manager
- Operate hand tools and installation equipment safely
- Keep the job site, equipment, and warehouse organized and clean
- Represent Blue Peak professionally with clients at high‑end venues
- Strong work ethic with drive, energy, and common sense
- Mechanically inclined and comfortable with common hand tools
- Reliable, punctual, and safety‑focused
- Comfortable working long shifts in heat, cold, wind, rain, and on uneven terrain
- Strong team player who can take direction and adapt as job site conditions change
- Prior event setup, tent installation, construction, landscaping, or general labor experience
- Background in outdoor, physical, or trade‑related work
- Familiarity with hand tools, mechanical assembly, or basic rigging
- Previous experience as part of a field crew or installation team
- Seasonal full‑time position; shifts start as early as 5:00 AM and can run up to 12 hours
- Flexible availability required: early mornings, weekends, and holidays through peak season
- Crews operate 7 days per week during the busy season
- Overnight travel for some jobs, typically 2 to 4 nights at a time, within roughly an 8‑hour radius of Chicago
- Primarily outdoor work in varying weather conditions
- Regularly lift, carry, push, and pull 50 to 75 lbs
- Stand, walk, bend, squat, kneel, and climb for extended periods
- Maintain focus and pace through long shifts in a demanding environment
