Maintenance Mechanic

JOB SUMMARY:

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining large industrial textile processing equipment, as well as facility maintenance. Tasks include start-up and shut-down procedures, electrical troubleshooting, maintaining and operating boilers, welding and cutting, hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical, and other systems

* Assists Maintenance Manager with all plant maintenance operations, ensuring that plant premises and equipment are kept in safe and clean condition

* Assists in building a maintenance program that optimizes the plant's uptime, considers costs, and satisfies all industry regulations and OSHA guidelines

* Complete PMs. Troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild equipment and document the work done without direct supervision

* Monitor equipment and ensure it is kept in good working order. Work closely with management to repair or replace equipment as needed

* Monitor boilers and associated equipment for proper operation

* Assist outside contractors with repairing and installing machinery

* Able to apply general plumbing and HVAC skills to maintain equipment and facility

* Always complies with company policies and procedures

* Maintains a neat and clean working area throughout the day

* Operate forklift to unload and load trucks.

* Other duties as assigned, as required by scope of work or customer needs.

Qualifications/Requirements

* Minimum 3 years of experience is required

* Punctuality and reliability is a must.

* Honesty and exceptional work ethic.

* Ability to solve problems independently.

* High School diploma/GED equivalent required.

* Must be 18 years of age or older.

Physical Demands

* Continual standing and walking during shift.

* Continual reaching with hands/fingers/arms during shift.

* Occasional climbing, balancing, kneeling, and crouching during shift.

* Must be able to occasionally lift over 80 pounds.

* Will occasionally encounter toxic chemicals.
