The Inbound/Outbound Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of both inbound receiving and outbound shipping departments to ensure efficient, accurate, and timely processing of goods. This role will lead, coach, and develop warehouse associates, ensure compliance with safety and operational standards, and collaborate cross-functionally to support inventory accuracy, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement efforts.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Supervise and coordinate daily inbound and outbound warehouse activities, including receiving, inspecting, picking, packing, and shipping.
  • Ensure timely and accurate receipt and shipment of goods in compliance with company procedures and customer expectations.
  • Monitor workflow and delegate tasks to maintain optimal productivity, staffing levels, and operational efficiency.
  • Promote and enforce adherence to company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements across both departments.
  • Collaborate with Inventory Control, Transportation, Purchasing, Customer Service, and other departments to resolve issues, coordinate deliveries, and support warehouse operations.
  • Train, mentor, and coach team members in proper receiving and shipping techniques, equipment usage, and system processes.
  • Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, shipping errors, and receiving variances; implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Use Warehouse Management System (WMS) and other tools to track incoming and outgoing shipments, maintain accurate records, and generate reports.
  • Conduct routine audits of inbound and outbound processes to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), including order accuracy, on-time shipping, receiving accuracy, labor efficiency, and quality control metrics.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance warehouse operations and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, and scanners.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in supply chain, logistics, or a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in warehouse or distribution operations, with at least 1 year in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Strong understanding of logistics processes, inventory systems, and warehouse best practices.
  • Experience with WMS and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Manhattan) and shipping software.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Forklift certification or ability to become certified.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in a warehouse environment, standing and walking for extended periods.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
