Resource Sharing Librarian
One Role, a World of Impact Lyon College is looking for a versatile, energetic librarian to lead our resource sharing program and help shape how our campus community discovers, accesses, and preserves information. This isn't a one-note job - you'll move between reference desk, archives, classroom, and social media feed, all in the same week. At Lyon, you won't be a cog in a giant system.
You'll be a visible, valued member of a close-knit library team where your ideas actually shape how we serve our campus. Small college, big impact!
- Provide research and reference services across print and digital resources, working directly with faculty, staff, and students in a range of subject areas
- Manage Interlibrary Loan (ILL) operations, including creating clear, helpful materials that promote ILL services to the campus
- Bring our online presence to life through social media and polished, user-friendly Lib Guides
- Build surveys, tutorials, forms, and other communications using Google services, Lib Wizard, and other library tools
- Steward our ContentDM digital archives and the College's physical archival collections
- Teach library instruction sessions as needed
- Supervise and mentor student workers
- Lead outreach efforts on and off campus through programming, information sharing, and community connections
- Contribute to library data collection and help shape library policy
- Take on other duties as assigned by the Library Director - because no two days here look exactly alike
- MLS/MLIS from an ALA-accredited program (or equivalent experience)
- Comfort with ILL platforms and eagerness to learn tools like Lib Guides, Lib Wizard, ContentDM, and Google Workspace
- A natural communicator who's just as comfortable drafting a tutorial as posting on social media
- Interest in archives and special collections
- Strong organizational skills and enjoyment of mentoring student staff
- A collaborative spirit and genuine passion for removing barriers between people and information
