Morning Shift

• Design and develop mechanical systems, components, and parts that make up a complete working Drum-style Wood Chipper model using Solid Works CAD software, working from initial hand-drawn 2D sketches to bring the total final design concept together.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and product management teams to ensure designs are manufacturable and cost-effective.
• Create detailed technical drawings, specifications, and documentation for prototypes and final products.
• Convert finalized 3D models into 2D drawings, ready for Request For Quote (RFQ) for processing (Laser Cutting, Folding, Machining etc) from local suppliers.
• Troubleshoot and resolve design issues during the development and production phases.
• Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in mechanical design.
• Participate in design reviews and provide feedback to improve product quality and performance.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering.
• Proficiency in Solid Works CAD software and FEA tools.
• Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of industry standards and regulations is a plus.
• Previous experience in designing diesel powered machinery (Forestry, Civil, Agricultural or Mining) with examples of previous work to share and show.

• Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) software.
• Familiarity with rapid prototyping and 3D printing technologies.
• Knowledge of thermal, fluid, or structural analysis.
• Experience in design of Forestry equipment and especially vegetation management machinery (Wood Chippers, Stump Grinders, Horizontal and Tub Grinders, Slow Speed Shredders, etc).
