Job Description
The Occupational Therapist (OT) functions as a member of the Rehabilitation team and provides quality care for patients referred for services by a licensed physician. This is a 13-week contract position.
ScheduleDays, 8 hours, 8 AM - 4:30 PM
Responsibilities- Initiates patient care through evidence-based assessment and documentation of findings in the patient’s electronic medical record (EMR).
- Submits a detailed plan of care to the referring provider for approval and signature within 24 hours of completing evaluation.
- Submits accurate treatment charges daily in the EMR.
- Maintains treatment records, statistical data, and patient schedule for patients referred for treatment.
- Monitors patient progress and adjusts the treatment plan and/or makes recommendations for a referral as needed.
- Supervises Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTA) in the care of patients and provides education as needed to enhance their clinical skills.
- Continuously observes all equipment in the department for hazards to assure patient safety.
- Displays positive behavior, promoting effective interpersonal relationships and enhancing the hospital’s image.
- Contributes and assists in enhancing the productivity and efficient operation of the Rehab Therapy Department.
- Maintains professional knowledge, licensing, and skills; promotes understanding of the field of occupational therapy.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervision.
- Prior OT Experience
- Required - Inpatient Experience
- Required - Active AR Occupational Therapy License
- Required - Active American Heart Association BLS
- Required - Two Supervisory Reference Forms, taken within the last two years
