Future Fuel Chemical Company in Batesville, Arkansas, is looking for a manager for our Procurement Team.
About The PositionThe Procurement Manager will oversee the end-to-endsupply chain process for direct chemicals (excluding biodiesel feed stocks) and indirect materials, combining strategic procurement with efficient interaction of plant personnel. This role is responsible for sourcing ~$130M in high-quality materials (both chemicals and indirects), supplies, and energy, negotiating cost-effective supplier contracts. The ideal candidate ensures that materials arrive on time, within budget, and in full compliance with industry standards to support our ongoing business growth.
Key Responsibilities- Procurement Strategy
:
Design and execute comprehensive purchasing strategies tosecure raw materials, goods, or services at competitive market rates. - Vendor Management
:
Source, evaluate, and build long-term relationships with global and domestic suppliers using objective performance scorecards. - Contract Negotiation
:
Lead complex contract negotiations regarding pricing,credit terms, lead times, and service-level agreements (SLAs). - Inventory
:
Monitor warehouse stock levels using ERP/MRP systems to optimize inventory balances with plant personnel. - Cost Optimization
:
Analyze supply chain data and financial metrics to identify bottleneck exceptions and implement transportation cost-saving initiatives. - Team Leadership
:
Supervise, mentor, and evaluate the performance of purchasing technologists.
- Education
:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management
, Business Administration, or a related field. - Experience
:
Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in procurement,purchasing, or logistics management. - Technical Savvy
:
High proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP), and advanced Microsoft Excel. - Negotiation Power
:
Proven track record of closing highly favorable supplier and freight carrier agreements. - Analytical Thinking
:
Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills to read complex financial datasets and forecast price trends. - Communication Skills
:
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to align cross-functional goals across finance, operations, and external vendors.
