* SUMMARY:

** The Assistant Plant Manager is responsible for planning, organizing and controlling production in an organization to ensure goods are produced efficiently, on time, within budget and to standard.
** ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
** include, but are not limited to, the following:
* Manage activities within the production process.
* Plan and organize productions schedules.
* Ensure health and safety regulations are met.
* Help plan and implement new technology, automation, and other improvements.
* Promote and ensure compliance of policies and procedures.
* Implement and control the production schedule.
* Review and adjust the schedule where needed.
* Determine the staffing needs and manage human and material resources to meet production targets.
* Make decisions about equipment use, maintenance, modification and procurement.
* Ensure the repair and routine maintenance of production equipment.
* Ensure that standard operating procedures are adhered to.
* Monitor quality standards of products.
* Implement and enforce quality control and tracking programs to meet quality objectives.
* Analyze production and quality control to detect and correct problems.
* Determine and implement improvements to the production process.
* Prepare and maintain production reports.
* Monitor and review the performance of staff and organize necessary interventions for improvement.
** SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
** This position will have supervisory responsibility.
** EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE**
* ** Required**  + Bachelor’s Degree or related field or equivalent experience AND 5+ years of poultry or protein manufacturing experience  + 5 years of management experience  + Extensive knowledge of HACCP procedures  + Extensive knowledge of plant sanitation procedures  + Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
