Job Summary

As an experienced electrical service technician, you will work with customers to troubleshoot electrical equipment issues, create solutions, and ensure a smooth interaction, all while upholding the integrity of Wood-Mizer's core values. Additionally, when a customer service call or defect occurs in the field system or over the phone, you will analyze, find, and fix electrical problems.

What you will do
  • Troubleshoot High-voltage and low-voltage DC equipment; up to 480-voltage AC.
  • Knowledgeable in the operations of PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and servo motors/systems.
  • Interface with customers regarding technical and electrical aspects of the organization's products or services.
  • Relay customer feedback regarding products to appropriate personnel in sales, quality assurance, and product management.
  • Provide problem resolution and troubleshooting to customers over the telephone and in the field.
  • Assist with product updates.
  • Determine the best method to resolve complex technical and electrical issues to ensure customer satisfaction while adhering to the organization's policies.
  • Provide guidance, training, and instruction to non-technical representatives.
  • Determine parts to order for repairs and ensure timeliness of need; document service-related activities.
  • Complete certification material as required.
Education Qualifications
  • A high school diploma, high school education, or equivalent is required.
  • Trade school certificate in electronics or any related field is preferred.
Experience Qualifications
  • 4-6 years prior experience in customer service areas and working with the public are required.
  • 4-6 years of prior experience in service in the manufacturing field or a similar field is preferred.
Skills and Abilities
  • Mechanical aptitude (high proficiency).
  • 12-volt DC electrical knowledge and experience (high proficiency).
  • Reading electrical schematics (high proficiency).
  • High-voltage AC electrical experience, up to 480V 3-phase (high proficiency).
  • Knowledgeable in the operations of PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and servo motors/systems (high proficiency).
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems (must understand fluid flow inside a closed system, high proficiency).
  • Typing skills, telephone skills, and computer literacy (medium proficiency).
  • Working knowledge of Word and Excel (medium proficiency).
