Volunteers - Bright Children's Centres

Overview

Volunteering positions are available across Bath, Keynsham and Somer Valley. Children’s Centre services provide early help services and programmes to support parents with children aged 0–5 years to experience and share the joys and challenges of parenthood. The services aim to support children to have the best start in life and thrive within their families and communities. Bright Start Children’s Centre Services offer opportunities for parents and carers with children aged 0–5 years to come together to share the challenges and joys of parenthood.

Providing services across Bath East, Bath West Keynsham, Chew Valley and Somer Valley areas, we offer a range of activities and support services to help with all aspects of parenting to make sure every child gets the ‘best start in life’ and improve their life chances.

We have several volunteering opportunities at children’s centre sites to support our staff and the families accessing our services. Opportunities include assisting with:

• Child & Family play sessions e.g.:
  Outdoor Play and Explore, Stay & Play sessions
• Portage play and explore sessions (Children with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities, SEND)
• Children’s groups
• Gardening
• Buggy walks
• Supporting families in their home who may otherwise struggle to access services

All volunteers need to be a minimum of 18 years old and be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
