Job Description & How to Apply Below

The University of Bath is continuing to strengthen its research governance infrastructure through a series of major digital developments designed to support responsible and compliant research.

About the role

Ethics@Bath, our central ethics management system, has already been successfully launched and is now embedded as the primary tool for managing ethical review processes across the University. We are also enhancing our use of ReDA to support stronger oversight of clinical studies, ensuring that study registration, monitoring and reporting are well‑governed and aligned with regulatory requirements. In addition, we are preparing to launch a new digital solution that will support the management of export control licences, risk assessments, and a wider range of research‑related compliance processes.

Together, these systems will enable a more connected, efficient, and user‑friendly research governance environment.

About you

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with digital systems, data administration, or research management platforms.
  • Enjoys solving problems, learning new technologies, and improving processes.
  • Pays close attention to detail and understands the importance of data integrity.
  • Communicates clearly and works collaboratively with a range of stakeholders and teams.
  • Can help design and produce reports or dashboards that enable colleagues to manage their responsibilities effectively.
  • Is proactive, organised, and comfortable balancing competing priorities.

Experience in research governance, ethics review, compliance, or research administration is welcome but not essential. Support and training will be provided.

Further information

This is a part‑time role, working 0.5 fte (18.25 hours per week), preferably on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, however, this can be negotiated. We operate a hybrid working practice in line with the University's policy so colleagues are expected to be on campus 2‑3 days per week.

What we can offer you

We're continually expanding our benefits package to better support you and enhance your experience with us and the below is just an example of some of the many great benefits we offer:

  • Free counselling services through Health Assured
