Familiarity with Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) is highly valued, as is the ability to adapt to students' varying behavioral and academic needs.

Qualifications:

• Valid Maine 282 certification and active CHRC clearance (both required)
• Experience in Special Education, ideally working with K-5 age groups
• Knowledge and hands-on practice applying positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS)
• Familiarity with designing and implementing MTSS frameworks
• Willingness to participate in Safety Care training
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, staff, and families

Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and regularly review Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Create and maintain a safe, structured, and inclusive classroom environment
• Utilize data-driven strategies to address academic and behavioral needs
• Collaborate with general education teachers, therapists, and support staff
• Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and goals
• Model and teach positive coping and problem-solving skills
