As an Assistant Teacher at Midcoast Maine Community Action, your role is to support the lead teacher in creating a fun and engaging learning environment for young children, helping them grow and learn every day.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the lead teacher with classroom activities and lessons.
- Help prepare materials and set up learning spaces.
- Support children during playtime and educational activities.
- Encourage positive behavior and help manage classroom dynamics.
- Communicate with parents and caregivers about children's progress.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to planning sessions.
Required
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent
Required Experience:
- Experience working with children in a classroom or similar setting
- Basic understanding of child development and educational practices
Required
Skills and Abilities:
- Good communication skills to interact with kids, parents, and staff
- Ability to work well in a team and follow directions
- Patience and creativity in engaging with young learners
