As an Assistant Teacher at Midcoast Maine Community Action, your role is to support the lead teacher in creating a fun and engaging learning environment for young children, helping them grow and learn every day.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the lead teacher with classroom activities and lessons.
Help prepare materials and set up learning spaces.
Support children during playtime and educational activities.
Encourage positive behavior and help manage classroom dynamics.
Communicate with parents and caregivers about children's progress.
Participate in team meetings and contribute to planning sessions.
Required
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent
Required Experience:
Experience working with children in a classroom or similar setting
Basic understanding of child development and educational practices
Required
Skills and Abilities:
Good communication skills to interact with kids, parents, and staff
Ability to work well in a team and follow directions
Patience and creativity in engaging with young learners
