Special Education Resource Room Teacher

RSU 1 seeks a Special Education Resource Room Teacher, with a focus on Academics and Social Emotional Learning, for Phippsburg Elementary School. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of and experience working within special education settings and regulations.

• Demonstrate an understanding of elementary age students' academic learning (reading, writing, and math) and social/emotional needs
• Ability to teach academic and social emotional skill building groups, and design in-class support services
• Understand how to teach needed executive functioning skills for success as a student in general education classrooms
• Ability to implement and track data for check in/check out programs for IEP students
• Help to develop and implement positive behavior support plans for IEP students to be successful in general education classrooms
• Communicate effectively with families and colleagues
• Strong collaboration skills and a proven ability to work well in a fast paced, team-oriented environment
• Ability to lead IEP team meetings and complete all necessary special education paperwork.
