Position: Corrosion Control Inspector (NACE) (5018) with Security Clearance

Ghostrock, a subsidiary of Three Saints Bay, LLC and a federal government contractor, is seeking a NACE Certified Corrosion Control Inspector - Navy to join our team in Bath, ME. This position requires US citizenship and an active Secret clearance.

Responsibilities
  • Prevent and control corrosion in hull, topside, interior and deck surface coating systems on Navy ships.
  • Apply the regulations of the Clean Air Act, NESHAP, EPA, OSHA, ASTM 718F and the Material Safety Data Sheet regarding VOC compliance.
  • Conduct surveys of underwater hull, topside, interior and decks to assess the effectiveness of corrosion control systems and attend Surface Ship Availability events.
Requirements
  • US Citizenship.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Base Access and an active Secret clearance.
  • Graduated from high school, trade school, industrial school, or correspondence course with credits in algebra, plane geometry, trigonometry and physics.
  • Five (5) years of experience in the prevention and control of corrosion and in hull, topside, interior and deck surface coating systems on Navy ships.
  • Five (5) years of experience with the application of the Clean Air Act, NESHAP, EPA, OSHA, ASTM 718F and the Material Safety Data Sheet with regard to VOC compliance.
  • Familiarity with corrosion control policy guidance and technical support at the program level for NAVSEA (e.g., supporting PEO SHIPS PMS 400D for AEGIS Class DDG-51 and CG-47 ships).
  • Five (5) years conducting surveys of underwater hull, topside, interior and decks to determine effectiveness of corrosion control systems and attending Surface Ship Availability events.
  • Experience reviewing and providing technical guidance on specifications related to corrosion control systems for surface ships, ship construction, maintenance and repair.
  • Experience providing technical guidance on the techniques involved in the inspection, preparation and application of corrosion protection systems.
  • Must be certified by the National Association of Corrosion Engineers; documentation must be provided at the time of award.
